Regina police have launched a homicide investigation following the death of a man found gravely injured Thursday evening.

Officers were called to the area of the 1300 block of Robinson Street with a report of an injured person around 5:50 p.m., according to a release from the Regina Police Service (RPS).

The victim was found laying on the ground with life-threatening injuries, police said. Officers provided first aid until EMS arrived, but according to police, life saving measures were unsuccessful and the man was declared dead at the scene.

Traffic was shut down on the 1300 block of Robinson Street between 7th and 8th Avenue, as well as 8th Avenue between Robinson Street and Retallack Street, police said in an earlier release.

RPS said investigators are working with the Coroners Service to investigate the death and said more information will be released at a later date.

This is Regina’s sixth homicide of 2024.

Anyone with information is asked to contact RPS or crime stoppers.
