SaskPower is putting its smart meter program on hold, pending an investigation into a possible fire risk.
More than 100,000 smart meters have been installed at Saskatchewan homes in the last few years.
But over the past two months, there have been six fires connected to the devices.
The Crown-owned utility says it will not be installing any more smart meters until it completes its investigation, which could take several weeks.
