SaskTel has informed customers that effective February, people who subscribe to the popular High Speed Classic and infiNET internet services will be paying $5 more per month.

The government-owned phone company is implementing a 14 per cent increase – its first price hike in five years.

A letter was mailed to customers this week, explaining that the price increase will allow SaskTel to “invest in its network” and “provide improved services”.

SaskTel director of external communications Michelle Englot said that approximately 70,000 customers will be impacted by the increases.
