A woman has been airlifted to hospital after a minivan and semi crashed near Chamberlain, Sask.

The crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. on Highway 11, leading up to the central Saskatchewan town. RCMP said a southbound minivan and northbound semi collided.

The van’s driver, a 50-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries. She was transported by STARS air ambulance to hospital in Regina.

Two children who were passengers in the minivan suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

The semi driver, a 70-year-old man, was uninjured.

Traffic was significantly backed up on the highway as vehicles were re-routed along a service road.
