Lethbridge Regional Police have confirmed that they have recovered a purple Chevrolet TrailBlazer that high-risk sex offender, Michael Sean Stanley had been driving.
Stanley is reported to have family ties to the city of Lethbridge, and police have confirmed that Stanley was in the city October 4, but his current whereabouts are unknown.
This comes as Saskatchewan RCMP say they received more than 25 reports over the weekend from people claiming they saw Michael Sean Stanley. None of the sightings have been confirmed, and Mounties say several turned out to be false.
On Friday, police received an unconfirmed report that Stanley was spotted near the community of Beechy, north of Swift Current. The local school was put on partial lockdown Monday.
Officers searched the area, but Stanley wasn’t found.
Authorities have been on the hunt for Stanley since last Tuesday, when his electronic monitoring bracelet was cut off in Lloydminster. Stanley is now wanted for breaching the conditions of his release.
Police say he has taken children from playgrounds in the past and has a long history of sex offences.
