A pickup truck has collided with an empty school bus that had broken down on the Trans-Canada Highway just west of Regina.

Prairie South School Division spokesperson Darby Briggs says the bus had broken down on the way back from a ski trip Wednesday afternoon.

Another bus picked up the stranded students, but a tow truck wasn’t available, so the other bus was left at the entrance of the grain scales near Highway 1.

It’s believed that the pickup truck crashed into the parked bus sometime Thursday morning.

There’s no word on whether anyone in the pickup was injured.
