Two men are facing drug and firearms charges after a traffic stop on Sunday morning.

Police say a canine patrol member noticed a vehicle with two people inside turning south on Albert Street from Fifth Avenue. According to police, the officer noticed the vehicle was speeding and the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle was stopped in the area of Dewdney Avenue and Albert Street and police found marijuana and methamphetamine inside, police said in a news release. Police say they also found a 12-guage shotgun and ammunition.

Aron Thomas Scott, 32, and Logan Edward-Thomas Ross, 29, from Regina are facing multiple charges, including possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, breach of probation and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Both men made their first court appearances on Monday morning.
