A public awareness campaign is encouraging people interested in fostering vulnerable infants and sibling groups in Regina to come forward.

The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association says there's been an increase in the number of foster homes across the province following a campaign last year.

But it says overall numbers have declined in the last five years, similar to most jurisdictions in North America.

The foster group says the need for homes is most acute in Regina -- especially ones willing to keep brothers and sisters together.

The foster families association provides support and training for prospective and approved foster parents across Saskatchewan.
