The City of Regina has announced that effective immediately, Ernie Polsom, the Director of Fire and Protective services, is no longer with the city.
The city made the announcement during a cryptic press conference on Monday afternoon.
Officials would not elabourate as to why Polsom is no longer with the city, but they said it was not for cause.
Layne Jackson will be the Acting Director while a national search for a new chief is conducted.
The city says they will honour Polsom’s contractual obligations.
