Regina police have launched an impaired driving investigation after a single-vehicle crash sent three kids to hospital.

Officers were called to the corner of Albert Street and Second Avenue North just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle drive onto the median and crash into a street sign.

A 33-year-old woman, 53-year-old man and three kids under the age of 10 were in the vehicle, police said in a media release.

All three kids were sent to hospital with minor injuries.

“It appears the children were not restrained with seatbelts,” police said.

The 33-year-old, who is now being investigated for impaired driving, was also taken to hospital. She suffered back and neck injuries, police said. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.

The 53-year-old passenger, who police said was intoxicated, was taken to a Regina police detention area.
