A man is facing charges, including impaired driving, after Regina police say he struck several vehicles with his car and fled on foot with his passengers.

Police responded to the hit-and-run at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Royal Street just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officers located the driver on the 1300 block of Grey Street alone. The man, who police say was found to be impaired, was taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle turned up open alcohol, cocaine, break-and-enter tools, knives and machetes.

Lyall Marlin Anaquod, 42, of Regina faces charges including impaired driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, and drug- and weapon-related offences.

Anaquod was scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday afternoon.
