The Ministry of Highways is reminding drivers to be on the lookout for large farm equipment on Saskatchewan highways.

The Ministry says harvest is starting early this year and drivers should be patient and plan ahead.

“The size of farm equipment has grown exponentially over the past number of years,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister David Marit said in a written release. “Farmers will be working all hours of the day, so I would like to remind drivers to please be patient and keep an eye out for slow-moving or oversized farm equipment.”

The provincial government also says there are a number of highway improvement projects throughout east-central Saskatchewan, including widening Highway 2 north of Wakaw, adding passing lanes on Highway 5 north of Humboldt , grading Highway 6 near its junction with Highway 16 and grading and paving Highway 312 west of Wakaw.
