An occupant of a Regina apartment is being sought after an explosion and fire at the building that police say is linked to a clandestine drug lab.
Police were called to the apartment, located in the 2100 block of Robinson Street, after reports that the building was on fire and there were multiple explosions in the basement on July 2.
In a news release Tuesday, police said the fire and explosion were due to a clandestine extraction lab. Officers seized a large quantity of marijuana, cannabis resin and drug paraphernalia related to the production of cannabis resin.
The occupant of the suite, 41-year-old Chi (Tom) Qouc Thang, was nowhere to be found, and police are trying to find him as part of the investigation.
Thang is described as an Asian man, about five-foot-five and 132 pounds with a thin build, black hair (possibly shaved bald) and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on the incident or the whereabouts of Thang is asked to contact Regina police or Crime Stoppers.
