Wyatt Gorrill never thought his message would go viral when he made it in a field with a tractor and a discer.

Gorrill wrote “Carbon Tax” with a line drawn through it on one of his family’s field near Bulyea, SK. It can’t be seen from the ground, but from up in the sky, the view is impossible to miss.

The sign is in response to the federal government’s plan to impose a carbon tax on all provinces by 2018.

“I don’t know how I got it looking good. I didn’t use GPS. It turned out alright,” said Gorrill.

Gorrill’s close friend, Nolan Fuller wanted to help him with the project. He suggested using his drone to get some overhead shots of the field and upload them to a social media farm group created by Gorrill.

“I hope it sparks a movement,” said Fuller, who wants the government to think of an alternative to the tax.

Photos of the sign have been shared hundreds of times, thanks  posts from Premier Brad Wall.

Brad Wall tweeted and shared the pictures on Facebook Wednesday morning,  and said, “Farmers from Bulyea, SK have a message for any federal government politicians flying over our province.”

Gorrill and Fuller both want farmers to come together and fight against the carbon tax.

“It’s good to get (the message) out. For other people that aren’t so sure what’s going on with the (carbon tax). It’s just a way for farmers to stand up to it,” said Gorrill.
