Fire officials say recent rain, cooler temperatures and the amount of crops harvested were determining factors in ending the ban.

On Wednesday, a fire ban that was issued for all provincial Crown land south of the Churchill River in Saskatchewan was lifted.

Officials are reminding people to carefully dispose of smoker’s material in a metal container partially filled with sand or gravel, instead of tossing it into flower pots, planters or plastic containers.
