An 18-year-old man was pronounced dead after he was driven into Kamsack on an ATV.

At around 3:15 a.m. an off-duty police officer saw a quad with three men driving erratically on the Queen Elizabeth Boulevard in Kamsack, northeast of Yorkton. The driver flagged down the officer near the sports grounds and told him one of the men had been seriously injured.

18-year-old Brandon Cote from Cote First Nation was pronounced dead at the scene.

Through investigation the Kamsack RCMP determined that the ATV had been stolen from private property at Madge Lake.

The driver, 18-year old Kaylon Tourngeau-Genaille, is charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death, one count of break, enter and commit, one count of theft of a motor vehicle and theft under $5000.00.

Tourngeau-Genaille appeared in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Canora this morning. Court has been adjourned to July 14th at 9:30 a.m. at the Kamsack provincial courthouse.

The third passenger, a 19-year-old man from Cote First Nation, remains in custody and charges are pending.

Kamsack RCMP, Yorkton General Investigation Section, Major Crime Unit South and Traffic Services Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
