A missing 17-year-old boy’s body has been found in a river near Fort Qu’Appelle, RCMP in Saskatchewan say.

The teen was found dead in the river, which is located about 100 metres east of the Fort Qu’Appelle pedestrian bridge, by an RCMP underwater recovery team on Tuesday.

He was last seen alive early Saturday afternoon in the southern Saskatchewan town, according to an RCMP media release sent just after midnight Sunday.

Fort Qu’Appelle is located about 70 kilometres northeast of Regina.
