One person was taken to hospital after a collision between a pickup truck and a school bus with no passengers on the Ring Road in Regina.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of the Ring Road near McDonald Street just before noon Wednesday.

Police say it appears the pickup made a lane change and hit the front passenger-side corner of the bus. The truck was carried on the front of the bus as the bus drove into the centre ditch.

The truck then rolled several times across the northbound lanes, coming to rest against a fence on the northeast side of the Ring Road, police said.

Police say the driver of the pickup did not appear to sustain any serious injuries, but was taken to hospital by EMS for assessment. The driver of the bus was unhurt.

It’s anticipated that a charge will be laid when the investigation into the crash wraps up, police said.
