A Regina woman accused of stealing more than $200,000 intended for her mother’s care will face a preliminary hearing next month.

Janet Anne Pryputniski is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 27 for a preliminary hearing on theft and fraud charges.

Police allege Pryputniski held power of attorney over her mother and took money that was intended for her care.

Pryputniski was arrested in January following an investigation that was launched after police received a report that the money was missing in March 2013.

The preliminary hearing, which will determine whether there’s enough evidence to send the case to trial, is expected to last two days.
