The Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region has announced it will work with two private providers to meet wait time targets for surgery.

The health region is already working with Surgical Centres Inc., which will provide additional services, along with Aspen Medical Surgery, for shoulder and knee procedures.

Officials expect the two facilities will perform another 2,000 procedures to help the health region meet the province’s goal of reducing wait times for surgery to three months or less by March 2014.
