A 22-year-old Regina man is facing charges after police responded to a report of a person with a gun in Wascana Park.
Around noon Friday, police were called to the 3000 block of Wascana Marina Road after a man was seen carrying a gun.
A man and two females were taken into custody, and the females were released without charges. Police recovered a firearm.
Mathieu Robert John Kahnapace has been charged with careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by crime and possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with.
Kahnapace is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday.
