Regina Transit is offering voters free rides to the polls on election day.

The free service is also available to paratransit riders and includes return trips.

Polls open Wednesday at 9 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. All polling locations are wheelchair accessible.

A special free shuttle will be offered to voters in the western portion of Ward 6, who are required to cast their ballots at the polling station set up at the Eastview Community Centre.

Buses marked “Charter Poll 17” will run from Albert Community School, starting at 9 a.m., and will pick up every 15 minutes at each stop. The last bus will depart Albert Community School at 7:30 p.m.

The first return bus will leave Eastview Community Centre at 9:30 a.m. and drop off to each stop every 15 minutes. The last bus will depart the polling station at 8:15 p.m.

Five stops will be available to voters along the special route, numbered and shown in yellow dots in the map below:

1. Fourth Avenue at Rae Street westbound

2. Robinson Street at Fifth Avenue southbound

3. Albert Community School southbound

4. Dewdney Avenue at Robinson Street eastbound (bus stop #33)

5. Dewdney Avenue at Rae Street eastbound (bus stop #34)
