The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced the firing of head coach Corey Chamblin and general manager Brendan Taman.

Jeremy O’Day has been named interim vice-president of football operations and general manager, and Bob Dyce will take over as interim head coach, the team said in a news release Monday. A full search to permanently fill both jobs will be conducted at the end of the season.

“We are not meeting our expectations or our standards on the field and these changes were necessary to move us forward,” Riders president and CEO Craig Reynolds said in the release.

“Brendan and Corey worked tirelessly for this organization and I thank them for all that they have done for our team. But we are in a results oriented business and the current position of our team is unacceptable and this decision was necessary for us to build this team towards sustained success.”

The Riders fell to 0-9 after Sunday's 35-13 loss to the Ottawa Redblacks. Saskatchewan is the only winless team in the CFL this season.

Chamblin was named CFL coach of the year after leading the Riders to a Grey Cup title in 2013. Taman had been the team’s general manager since 2010.
