Provincial court judges in Saskatchewan are in for a raise.

The Saskatchewan government says it's accepted a commission's recommendations regarding salary increases and benefits for the judges.

The commission says judges should receive a pay boost equal to the Saskatchewan consumer price index, plus an extra one per cent for each of the three fiscal years starting this April.

It's also calling for an increase of $150 to the judges' annual professional allowance.

Saskatchewan's provincial court judges currently make nearly $239,000 dollars a year.
