Two people have been hospitalized and 13 others displaced from their homes after a fire on Regina’s Angus Street.

The Regina fire department responded to the blaze at 1454 Angus Street shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday. Flames were coming out the apartment building’s basement door and a bedroom window when crews arrived.

Two people were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation, fire officials said. Thirteen others were removed from the building and have since contacted mobile crisis.

Officials said flames started in the basement suite but that investigators have not yet determined the cause.
