A youth has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of a man whose body was found in a shed in Punnichy, Sask. last year.

The accused, who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, entered the plea Friday at Court of Queen’s Bench in Regina. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 24, 2017.

The youth was originally charged with second-degree murder in the death of 43-year-old Clayton Charles Cyr of the Gordon First Nation.

Cyr was found dead in the shed of a home in the 500 block of Fifth Avenue in Punnichy in June 2015. RCMP have said the youth and the victim knew each other.
