A major U.S. retailer that is looking to head north of the border may not have quite as much of a presence in Regina as first thought.

In January, it was revealed target had plans to buy 220 Zellers locations across Canada.

It had looked as though all three Zellers location in Regina would be converted to the new brand.

However, a new list from Target indicates it only plans to take over the store in Northgate Mall.

There's no word on what the future holds for the other two Zellers locations in the Southland and Victoria Square malls.

Target has also committed to taking over all three Zellers locations in Saskatoon and one in Yorkton.

But the Prince Albert and Moose Jaw Zellers are also missing from the final list.

The changes are expected to take two to three years.
