Homeowners in Regina who throw loud parties or let their dog bark too long may, some day, get tickets instead of a court summons.

The city is considering changes to its noise bylaw.

Currently, a judge decides financial penalties but the proposed changes suggest a $100 fine for animal noise and $150 for a noisy party.

The city is also looking at whether just one noise complaint instead of the current two should trigger a visit from a bylaw or police officer.

Council will vote on the changes Nov. 24.
