Defensive lineman John Chick extends contract with Riders

Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive lineman John Chick has signed an extension through the 2016 season.

Chick, 32, will be entering his sixth year with the Riders after signing with the team in 2007.

Last year, the Utah State University product led the CFL with 15 quarterback sacks and 11 tackles for loss, in addition to a career-high 45 defensive tackles.

The two-time Grey Cup winner returned to the Riders in 2013 after spending three seasons in the NFL.
