Icy road conditions have made travel treacherous across much of Saskatchewan.

Several vehicles, including a semi-trailer, slid into the ditch on the Trans-Canada Highway between White City and Balgonie on Thursday morning.

RCMP say they were called to numerous other crashes on highways across southern Saskatchewan earlier in the day.

The provincial Highway Hotline says travel is not recommended on Highway 11 between Saskatoon and Dundurn.

Travel is also not recommended on most highways around Swift Current, Kindersley and Lloydminster.

A blowing snow warning that was issued for much of southern Saskatchewan on Wednesday has since been lifted.
