About 150 locked-out steelworkers at a Regina agricultural manufacturing company who have been walking a bone-chilling picket line for most of this month have reached a tentative contract with their employer.
Details of the package involving Degelman Industries Ltd. and its unionized employees have not been released, but a ratification vote will be held this weekend.
The workers have been on the picket line since Feb. 10 after their union served strike notice Feb. 6 prior to being locked out the following day.
Staff voted by more than 80 per cent to reject a tentative deal that was presented to them last November.
They said the proposed wage package wouldn't cover the rising cost of living.
Blair Flavel, Degelman's general manager, has said the company was offering a pay hike of 11.5 per cent over three years.
