A man is facing impaired and dangerous driving charges after a collision involving four vehicles in a highway construction zone west of Prince Albert.
The crash happened Friday on Highway 40, about three kilometres southwest of the community of Parkside.
RCMP say a minivan slammed into the back of a pickup truck that was stopped and waiting for a pilot vehicle to escort it through the work zone.
The impact of the crash caused the pickup to hit two other vehicles that were also waiting to be escorted.
The male driver of the truck was taken to hospital in Prince Albert and was held overnight. There’s no word on his condition.
A 39-year-old Prince Albert man was arrested at the scene and was also taken to hospital.
Kenneth Swindler faces several charges, including impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and obstructing a police officer. He was also charged under the Traffic Safety Act with driving an unregistered vehicle.
Swindler was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court July 2 in Shellbrook.
