A man who shattered a Saskatchewan Mountie's arm when he shot him has been sentenced to two years in jail.
He will also have to spend one year on probation following his release and faces a four-year firearms ban.
The man, who is now 22, can't be named because he was 16 when he shot Const. Greg Toogood.
Judge Barry Morgan handed down his decision in provincial court in Carrot River.
Toogood was off-duty when he was shot at the backdoor of his home six years ago.
He had to undergo several surgeries and therapy to learn how to use his arm and hand again.
Toogood moved out of Carrot River about a year after the shooting and now works with the RCMP in Regina.
His attacker originally faced several charges, but pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm with intent to injure.
