RCMP are investigating a recent rash of break-ins in Melville and Ituna.

Police say a break and enter happened at the newly opened Saskatchewan Crop Insurance building in Melville sometime between 10 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday.

The interior of the building was vandalized, but nothing was stolen. The building was being renovated at the time of the incident.

Mounties say another break-in happened the 200 block of Second Avenue West in Melville sometime between mid-August and early September. About $800 worth of laminate flooring was stolen, along with some food.

A home in the southern part of Ituna was also broken into around 7 p.m. on Sept. 25. A witness in the home saw the intruder flee on foot, but no arrest was made.

RCMP say the break-ins are not believed to be connected. Anyone with information about any of the incidents is being asked to call Melville RCMP at 728-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
