At least two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after a collision involving a Regina transit bus.

Police say the bus collided with a Chevy Avalanche at the intersection of College Avenue and Lorne Street on Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:35 p.m.

The 49-year-old driver of the Avalanche was driving westbound on College Avenue when she passed Lorne Street, and realized she missed her turn. She hit the brakes, and reversed back towards the intersection. While reversing, she hit an eastbound bus turning north on to Lorne Street.

Two bus passengers were transported to the Regina General Hospital with minor injuries.

The 49-year-old female driver of the car was charged with driving without due care and attention.

Westbound traffic on College Avenue was being diverted onto Scarth Street and eastbound traffic was down to one lane while Regina Police conducted an investigation.
