A Saskatchewan man has been fined just over $3,900 after he pleaded guilty to illegal hunting and trapping.
Fernand Boivin of Viscount was also given a two-year hunting licence suspension, in addition to the fine he received in Humboldt provincial court.
Boivin was charged following an investigation by the Ministry of Environment in December 2012.
Conservation officers in Humboldt determined that Boivin was using illegal trapping equipment, including free-hanging neck snares, to catch coyotes without the landowner’s permission.
