SaskEnergy is moving its service centre from Regina to Emerald Park.

Last fall, the Crown corporation had a structural engineer inspect its Winnipeg Street location to see if the roof was safe during snowfall. Since the inspection, the snow levels have been monitored and staff would occasionally move due to safety concerns.

The Crown decided its best option was to move — and 130 employees will move to the new location in Emerald Park.

The natural gas refueling station will be closing and will not be rebuilt at the new location.

SaskEnergy had been planning to build a new operations facility at a cost of $30 million in the next three years. Moving buildings will cut the cost in half.

The Winnipeg Street location will be going up for sale soon.
