SHA announces hours for Regina's Urgent Care Centre during holiday season
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) announced hours for Regina’s Urgent Care Centre (UCC) during the holiday season.
The facility will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day and will be open from 8 a.m. from 4 p.m. on Boxing Day.
All other days, the centre will keep its regular hours from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Since opening in July, the UCC has treated more than 18,000 patients, which the province says has alleviated some of the ER pressures at Regina’s two hospitals.

In a statement, Health Minister Jeremy Cockrill says the government is committed to expanding this type of care to Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, and North Battleford.
However, staffing the facility is still an issue. The province had hoped for the UCC to be open 24 hours by the fall, but has yet to achieve that goal.
