A Weyburn man has been sentenced to 15 months in jail after he pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

David Kessler was sentenced after a judge accepted a joint submission from Crown and defence lawyers Thursday in Regina Provincial Court.

He was given a three-year probation order as part of his sentence and will be required to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Kessler, 31, was charged in 2012 after police found thousands of images and over 100 videos depicting child pornography on CDs and computer equipment at his home.
