Three men were injured, two of them seriously, after a house explosion Tuesday night in northwest Regina.

Emergency crews responded to the home on Cooper Crescent just after 7 p.m. Police say the house was engulfed in flames and smoke when they arrived.

The force of the blast was so strong that the front window of the home was blown 20 feet into the front yard. Neighbours say they heard a loud boom and those next door said they felt their home shake.

Two men, ages 19 and 35, were seriously injured in the explosion, while a 28-year-old man suffered minor injuries, police said. All three were taken to hospital.

SaskEnergy says there is no evidence of a natural gas leak on the property or in the surrounding area. Crews are continuing to inspect gas lines in the area as a precaution.

Police and fire officials are continuing to investigate and the cause still hasn’t been determined.
