About 1,000 chicks are dead after a barn fire Tuesday night at a Hutterite colony in southwestern Saskatchewan.
Police and fire crews responded to the blaze at the Swift Current Hutterite Colony around 9 p.m.
RCMP say the fire burned rapidly and completely destroyed the chicken barn.
No one was injured.
Mounties say the fire is not considered suspicious and the cause remains under investigation.
The value of the barn and the chicks that were killed wasn’t immediately known.
