A band councillor and former chief on the Key First Nation in Saskatchewan has received a one-year sentence after pleading guilty to drug and weapon charges.
Clarence Papequash pleaded guilty in March to possession of codeine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of ammunition while prohibited.
In 2014, Papequash received a six-month sentence for trafficking morphine while he was chief of the First Nation.
