CTV News has learned the number of foster children in Regina has doubled in the past year, while the number of foster homes has declined.
According to the Saskatchewan government, 19 foster children in Regina were living in hotels as of this week.
Since May, nearly 180 foster children have been housed in hotels. The average stay was eight days.
Meanwhile, the number of foster families in Regina is down, while reports of child abuse are up.
On Thursday, a special meeting between the Ministrty of Social Services and the Saskatchewan Foster Families Association was held to discuss ways of recruiting more foster parents.
