Three nurses at a Regina hospital are asking for better security measures, saying they feel unsafe going to work.

Karly Simpson is one of the nurses working at Regina General Hospital in the city's downtown.

She says there haven't been significant changes since a security incident involving her colleague in December.

Police say a man followed a nurse to her car, hit her when she got in and stole her purse.

On Wednesday night police say there was another incident when a 17-year-old pointed a firearm at another man outside the hospital.

NDP deputy leader Trent Wotherspoon says there needs to be urgent action to improve security.
