CTV Regina is recognizing not one but two individuals for excellence in community service this year, naming Paul and Carol Hill the 2014 Regina Citizens of the Year.

“Throughout the decades, Paul and Carol’s heartfelt love for their community has improved life opportunities for so many of our citizens,” said David Fisher, vice-president and general manager of CTV Saskatchewan.

“In 1963, this dynamic service duo married and began a family that believed in giving back to community.”

Since then, Paul and Carol have improved education and the lives of disadvantaged youth through their service and gifts to various community organizations. In 2011, they established the Mother Theresa Middle School of Regina, Canada’s first Jesuit-fostered academy, which helps underprivileged children in Grade 6 to 8.

The couple also founded One Life Makes a Difference, a charitable foundation that focuses on assisting disadvantaged youth. In addition, Paul and Carol have made contributions to the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, the Catholic studies program at Campion College and the Paul J. Hill School of Business at the University of Regina.

“Paul and Carol, you are recipients of many prestigious honours. May you now accept another,” said Fisher. “On behalf of everyone at CTV, thank you. Your 2014 Regina Citizen of the Year award is well deserved.”
