Regina police are investigating after gunshots were reported in the city’s north end Tuesday evening.

Just after 5:30 p.m., police were dispatched to St. John Street and First Avenue North after receiving a report that gunshots had been heard in the area.

Initial reports suggested that a male, believed to have a firearm, was chasing another male on foot on First Avenue North.

Police searched the area and didn’t locate either male, but their investigation later led them to a home in the 400 block of Ottawa Street.

Officers set up a perimeter around the house and made contact with the people inside.

Police say they are working to determine if those people had any role in the earlier event, and officers are continuing to gather information from witnesses and other residents of the neighbourhood.

It's believed a vehicle related to the incident may have caused some property damage in the area.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact Regina police or Crime Stoppers.
