The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released offensive lineman Ben Heenan.
In a media advisory issued Monday afternoon, the team says the move will allow Heenan "to pursue National Football League interests."
No further details were released.
Heenan and Riders general manager Brendan Taman are to attend a news conference scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Heenan helped the Green and White win a Grey Cup in 2013. The Roughriders selected the Saskatchewan Huskies product first overall in the 2012 CFL draft.
