Canadian Western Agribition officials have taken their most severe disciplinary action yet against an exhibitor from Alberta.
During the 2010 show in late November, Prairie Cove Charolais showed a cow that appeared to be in distress. The animal later died.
Now, Agribition officials have banned the exhibitor from the event for the next three years, saying the cow was clearly in poor health and should never have been brought into the show ring.
"Our rules specifically state that Canadian Western Agribition reserves the right to remove or ban any person or persons that do not uphold the code of ethics here at Agribition," Canadian Western Agribition CEO Jason Pollock said Wednesday.
