The City of Regina is launching a dust control pilot program after a number of complaints from residents in the areas of Pinkie Road and Winnipeg Street North.

Crews will surface the road with recycled asphalt from nearby roadworks projects to create a barrier between vehicles and the gravel road.

“We have heard the concerns of residents in these areas and have responded with an innovative solution,” said Norman Kyle, Director of Roadways and Transportation. “We are hopeful this will reduce the amount of dust created by the increased traffic on these roads.”

Resurfacing will happen on Winnipeg Street North during the week of Aug. 22, and on Pinkie Road during the week of Aug. 29. Pinkie Road will be closed for two days during the construction.
