Several people converged at the Saskatchewan legislature to push for the establishment of a controversial treatment for multiple sclerosis.

The demonstrators want the province to provide the so-called "liberation treatment" here in Saskatchewan. The revolutionary procedure was pioneered by Italian doctor Paolo Zamboni.

Many patients who have had the procedure have experienced a dramatic improvement in their condition. The province has pledged $5 million for clinical trials, but patients say they want the treatment to be available in Saskatchewan now.
